I'm in a nostalgic mood now- just been listening to my 'Dreamboats and Petticoats' CDs while I did some long over due ironing! I heard 'Sea of Heartbreak' by Joe Brown and the Bruvvers and it set me off thinking about times past. Did anyone else listen to Saturday Club on the radio on Saturday mornings? Was it Brian Matthews? Also did anyone watch 6-5 Special and later Ready Steady Go? Happy times for me!

nope live and kicking for me
I listed to Ed Stewart - Stewpot - and he had a super clip of a little boy saying ello darlin'. He was on every Saturday morning in the 70's I think.
Also watched 6-5 special, but I can't remember Ready Steady Go. Juke Box Jury was another popular programme, and one of the people on the panel used to say I'll give it foive. Can't remember her name.
Janice from Birmingham, if memory serves.

I watched Juke Box Jury as well. Seem to remember the person you mentioned but cant think of her name!

Yes Janice! I remember now.
Janice Nicholls.
While we are on a nostalgia kick, anyone remember the early top of the pops? I was only a nipper but I seem to recall a girl putting a record on a player and then the group miming to it. I even think her name was Samantha, but you know what, I don't know if I've just created this "memory" from nothing.

The 6-5 special's right on time .......

Dong Lang , yay!
Radio Luxemburg and Radio Caroline for me - on a tiny transistor radio under my pillow so my parents couldn't hear it! Ready Steady Go on the telly and Cathy McGowan..... and yes my hair was EXACTLY like hers!
Oh dear, I remember them all and I was in love with Joe Brown.

Trigger, behave!! ;o)
looooooool
Janice Nicholls ("I'll give it foive") was a judge on Thank Your Lucky Stars, not Juke Box Jury where the verdict was either "Hit" or "Miss".
Juke Box Jury, and Ready Steady Go, there was an American music programmes called Soul Train, but that was bit later.
