Does anyobe know this track. its got the synthesizer sampled from war of the worlds.. the bit when the martians have taken over the world and theres an eerie "ooh La" sound??

Possibly "The Eve Of The War" by Ben Liebrand if it's a dancy type track.

What you're looking for is "The Musical version of The War of the Worlds" by Jeff Wayne. Released on vinyl as a double album in 1978 and released on cd sometime later. Now available on a Brilliant sacd in 5.1 surround sound. A fun sort of culty item, not for everyone. Its a disco-era, fully orchestrated, high energy Story, with narration, which really demands the listeners full attention for a long period. Also features Justin Hayward's Forever Autumn, which IMHO is a pop gem. I recommend it!
