I noticed this morning my car is making a strange squeeking noise, most noticable when I go round a left hand bend. It sounds like it's coming from the rear left side. My bf borrowed it to take himself and 4 others to Manchester on Sunday, could the weight of all of them done something? Suspension maybe? It's a VW Golf.

oooeerrr....
Looking at that, a friend of mine opened the hood of his car in Texas to find a 6 ft snake there..............
Quite a lot of cars these days have small wire on the brake callipers such that when the pads wear thin it rubs against the outside of the disc, this makes a whinning sound and is designed to make you get your pads changed before they wear out and score your discs and cost a fortune. This sounds to me like what is happenning and as it's most noticable when going round a left hand bend I'd say your brake pads on the right may be wearing thin.

Thanks R1! I'll get the brakes checked out on the weekend.
I've got one of them milly, it sounds like ball bearings. I've had the car serviced and they couldn't find anything. It tends to be loudest when I'm going downhill - most odd.
Probably every car I've ever had has, at some time, developed a 'squeal' (from one or more wheels) when going around corners. In every case it has been (as Boxtops suggests) a wheel bearing problem.

One of them still stuck underneath? lol

Oh bugger, I thought that shouting of "help me" was just coming from the radio.

Ok, so brakes and wheel baring to be checked. I like to go to the garage and suggest what the problem might be, as if I might know what I'm talking about. Which of course I don't.
