having trouble with my car sometimes when I put it in reverse it won't move when you put foot on accelerator its like it is trying to reverse over a bump and raises up, if I go into 1st then back into reverse it tends to sort its self, this is happening more and more, does anyone have any idea of what it could be?
thanks in advance

i had to call the aa out for this monday or tues, it was the brakes sticking or something, sorted itself out in the end, the aa guy told me it happens sometimes if the car hasn;t been moved for ages - the car had been in the car park for 6 weeks though
Your rear brake shoes/pads are seizing on ( or possibly just the handbrake cable sticking). Get them checked out as soon as possible, They could overheat and cause real problems.

you know if its going to be expensive?
Depends what car you have, why do so many drivers keep their car details secret?,
Old Vauxhall, I expect
The rear brake drum might just need cleaning out - brake dust and rainwater make a good glue.

However when the brake drum is removed, the grake cylinders might be weeping - particularly if it is an old Astra.
brake, not grake! Sorry

its a mercedes a class
Some of the "A" classes have brake drums at the rear and some have disc brakes with an integral drum for the handbrake. I would guess the shoes in either are sticking and just a clean out and lubricate of the moving parts should clear it. Most places like Quickfit will give you a free brake check and advise you what the problem is.
Many people on AB frequently advise against using Kwik Fit. They will find expensive faults where they don't exist.
My wife took her car to Quikfit as there was a grinding noise coming from the rear brakes. They stripped the drums off cleaned everything up and didn't charge a penny. Classed as 'free brake check'. I think they get a lot of unfair criticism.
