I appear to be having a run of not-good luck. The car wouldn't start - needed a new battery (car's festive present sorted then). Came home and key broke in front door lock. Have just tried to play a cd on player/radio combo and the disc will not turn. This computer is beginning to look as though it's state of health is worse than my own and I do not know if I will be able to finish this op.

Now, should I or should I not spash out on the Lottery tomorrow, or should I just put the money into some charitable collection tin and cut out the middle men?

Ahhhhh sorry to hear of your bad luck. Go and buy a lottery ticket!!!!
Do someone a good turn before you buy the lottery ticket.
I let an old chap go before me in the queue on Weds afternoon before I bought my Thunderball ticket. I won £5.

Hi boxy pal! Big Sis has moaned in the last 3 weeks that her cheque from ERNIE was only for £25 and she only won £10 on last week's lottery.
tragedy - had I know you had registered today I would have marked this op for your attention
Cheers maggie - If I do I may just have to post the numbers pre-draw to warn others to avoid using the same
Perhaps you had better not try a game that \i play - Russian roulette lottery.

Choose 6 numbers, don't buy a ticket, but check the numbers after the draw.

Usually you can congratulate yourself on a pound saved, but with your luck .......
I think when you have one bad-luck thing, you notice the others more keenly. If you'd just snapped your key in the lock, you'd have come on here and laughed about the strength of Brunnhilde.....
How nice for your sis, just in time for Christmas too!

2nd instalment. I had a pre-admission hospital appt at 9.15 am today. I could not sleep at all last night so stayed on the pc. I noded off just as I should have been getting ready! I awoke because my leg was sore - it was too near the fire and I had a red shin from ankle to nearly knee height. I then saw the time - 8.45. Mon Dieu. I hopped around like a demented idiot and got ready to leave home. My car was frozen white and it was still rush hour traffic. Suddenly I saw someone waving to me from their car as they passed. I flagged them down - someone I hadn't seen for 2 years! He gave me a lift to the hospital, bless him and I had 5 minutes to spare. And there's more...
hahaha -only you ttfn. You definitely missed your true vocation in life x

After my appointment as i exited the hospital I realised I had my car park change purse with me but not the everyday one and had insufficient funds to call for a taxi. At this point I lit a cigarette and enjoyed it a la Hamlet adverts of old. I then slowly walked home, very slowly. It was freezing cold. By the time I got home, totally knackered, there were penguins sitting on the garden fence. I still haven't been to bed since Wednesday night. Another medicinal tot is in order I think. Cheers
