interior ligtht sensors for passat...where are they?

ive looked all round the door, but cant see any sort of 'sensor'...can anyone tell me what it looks like and where i will find it in a vw passat auto estate, 2002

ive just bought a manual and the section ot would be in is missing!

In more modern cars there are micro switches inside the door locking mechanism.

thanks toureman...will i be able to see them and check them?

my interior lights dont come on when i open the door...they all work when manuallly turned on so its not the bulbs...

the boot one does thouhg...

Usually built into the latch assy now.
Have to gain access and check the connections .. and check the cable bundle connections at through the A pillar from the door components.
