I am a freelance courier and in the last 4 months since i started i have clocked up about 21,000 miles in my Citroen Berlingo which i own and have a 5 year loan in which to repay.

My question is would it be financially better for me to lease a van instead , because the mileage rate i am doing my van is'nt going to last 5 years i'm sure.

Any idea of the costs, and positives or negatives of going down this route ??

There will undoubtedly be milage clauses in the leasing agreement if you go that route and a fee comensurate. As it's your work the van can be treated as fully tax deductable so I would say your fine as you are, just run it until it dies and buy another. Even if you could get an unlimited milage lease deal you'll be paying hundreds per month, probably for 3 years and you still won't own the vehicle.

One suggestion though, you might consider an LPG conversion, LPG is approx half price and for that many miles you get the cost back very quickly.
