I recommended to a friend that they fill up there car at Asda's because it was more than 4p litre cheaper than the local BP, but they said the fuel from Asda's doesn't last as long as the fuel from BP. I laughed at this but they said it was true, that the fuel was of lesser quality and therefore did not last as long as other fuels such as texaco bp etc.......Are they talking out of there ar*e?

I thought it was all the same petrol, just bought from different suppliers, I have never noticed some fuel working better or worse than others - mine tends to come from either Tesco or BP.
Yep ..What a load of craptrap.

Exactly what thought, but..I have had people say that they have dodgy fuel at one time or another and has caused there car to backfire or loose power!
I get updates from petrolprices.com (my wife says i'm obsessed by it!)
At the moment asda has gone to 114.9 a litre for diesel, but any journey we do if we pass a garage i ask my wife what the price is then breath through my teeth and shake my head...but its more just to annoy my wife now!!!
Only sometimes, some water gets in the fuel .. and this is pretty rare these days with the water separators that are in their systems.
Even if it was different (which I doubt) it would never be 1p per litre better never mind 4p
As far as im concerned petrol from tesco or asda is the same as from BP or esso ok they may be slightly different but not noticeable to me
I wish our fuel was 114.9, our best is 117.9 at the moment.
Cheapest here are Asda and Sainsbury's stores, currently 111.9p / litre at the moment, which is the lowest I've seen it in quite some time. I filled up at Sainsbury's for that and used my Nectar card too.
all base petrol,no matter which outlet sells the product,is exactly the same.it is only the additive that determines the difference.the base fuel is loaded at the terminal, where the company in question ie.asda, tesco,bp,shell etc.have their own storage of additive.this is injected into the fuel at loading. each of us has our own opinions on maybe which one our car runs better on.
Mine runs better on fuel I've been able to claim back on expenses
Supermarket fuel has a higher bio-fuel content (made from plants). This can damage the engine and some car manufacturers have advised that their warranty may be void if this fuel is used.
