I have two subs running off an apline amp. All hooked up to a Sony head unit and has been working fine for over a year. Two weeks ago the subs would not come on for no apparent reason. I took the head unit out and giggled the wires and it all worked again. Yesterday the subs were not on again but I had a play on the leads and nothing happened so I changed the unit from CD to RADIO and the subs came on... Now the subs only come on when the unit is on RADIO...
Any ideas why???
Thanks

That would be a head unit problem.
The head unit powers the amp through some Sub pre-outs? (DIN sockets)
Are the connection tight?
They have to be, don't they? Sub with radio is fine.
Fault is on board, or in switching system on board.
