Saving petrol

I bought a magnetic thing you put in the petrol line from QVC.I sent it back because i could not believe it.Has anybody any positive experience of this?

Just curious, but if you could not believe it, why did you buy it in the first place?
Just to confirm what GeordieSteve says, they don't work. I've seen a number of tests by various car magazines and all have shown them to be useless. I believe the idea is that the molecules in petrol all point the same way because of the magnet.. but basically it's a load of old cobblers. The only real way to save fuel is a) drive gently and no Grand Prix starts at the traffic lights and b) use the right gear at the right time - no revving it's cogs off in 2nd gear and don't try to climb hills in 4th/5th. I hope you got your money back.
