very little , but many garages offer service & MOT deals as they are desperate for business
depends on what service you require, an oil service is just that, change oil and filter and top up other fluids, screen wash, radiator power steering etc, full service is as above but with check brake pads/ discs for wear, change air filter / plugs and fuel filter if app; check all tyres for tread depth and roadworthyness and correct pressure, check all lights/ horn, check all suspension arms, bushes ,springs etc, check wiper blades and washer system, check the operation of windows/ switches etc, lubricate door locks and hinges, adjust hand brake. read all fault codes. You can go to the dvla website and find out what is tested/ involved in a mot test, hope this helps.
