My Focus estate has a small round translucent mauve disk about 2 cm dia on the right hand top of the dashboard, so it 'looks up' at the sky
I've prised it up and seems to some sort of a bulb-holder with wiring attached. But can't go any further
Does anyone know what it is, or does?

I have a focus, which has got something simular, i had mine fitted for pay as you go insurance, it could be that a previous owner might have done the same.

Thanks discobobby, I think you may have found the answer.
Upon looking again I see that there is no actual bulb inside, merely two wires attached.
And, the previous owner imported the car from the continent, so this thing may have been fitted as standard over there.
