Recently reversed into a parked car on a pub car park at a funeral. Couldnt see the car due to the way it was parked. We provided our details etc etc to owner of parked car who worked in a bank across from pub. We have now had letters from their insurance and what looks like personal injury insurance which obviously cannot be claimed for as she wasnt in the car. Have witness who has also said that as the car was parked on a car park they are not allowed to claim. Just wondered if this was true. We have done the right thing but it now seems as though the other party is being difficult. Just want to have our backs covered. Any help and/or advice greatly appreciated. Thanks

It doesn't matter where they were parked - they can claim for damage caused to their vehicle.

Don't see how they can claim for personal injury when they weren't in the car
Hi, has the pub car park got CCTV that's one answer, if so ask can you use the evidence if need be, as regards Personal Injury Jesus I would love to be in your shoes I love these, what I would do if you can get the evidence you need to get them for Perjury & stating what she said, She has implied that you where driving the car when it hit you Defamation of Character, go for it I hate Bastds that try this on.
unfortunately TWR very few if any motor claims that are blatent lies end up in court. Even with cast iron evidence, i see it all the time and its very frustrating..it seems the insurance companys are scared to upset people or lose business , they just give the policy holder the opportunity to withdraw the claim then forget about it..

Hi Chas, I understand & respect your answer, A long while ago a person stepped out in front of my car & ended up on the floor ( Not hurt in any way as I was only going slow) an Ambulance was called in turn my Insurance said I would have to pay the fee of 25.00 I contested this as it was not my fault, I had 2 wittiness's one been a policeman who I know & a bank employee, Without giving out a sermon my Insurance give in & said that I would not have to pay the fee, Without trying to come over as a ( As i have been called on here"" clever" sod, I would fight this all the way.
the worst example ever, was when i went with an estimator to look at a front ended Passat, from the moment i set eyes on it ,it didnt ring true looked like it had been in a breakers yard a total mess. It had allegedly rear ended another car which surprise surprise there was pesonel injury claims. When i looked in glovebox of the car there was an invoice from a VW garage for investigation into a non start for which they determined was head/cam etc. estimate for work 2,000. On this invoice was the mileage and date which was 6 months prior to the accident ( i still have a copy in my desk). When we put a jump pack on the passat low & behold it had the same mileage as the invoice and the engine refused to start,.It had not moved in 6 months. There was no way it had ever been involved in an accident, there were a few people involved in the claim, the vehicles owner the P.I. claiments and even a recovery company had put in an invoice for recovery of both vehicles.
To my knowledge no one was ever reported to the police for this, the comapny in question was part of RBS even there engineer didnt seem bothered this is not isolated.
ps, i let you work out the ethnicity of the people involved
Hi Chas, yes I know what you mean does Bradford come to mind??? My step son seen a 406 Asked me would I check it out it was stuck in the corner of a garage with a flat, I said leave it, He wanted the car, Next Bonnet would not open I again said leave it, Well it was bought from a very very nice man from Skipton Nr ""Bradford"" the place that goes dark at 2pm each day, , I tried to warn my stepson, 96 miles later I replaced the Engine, Why wont people listen??
