Can't get the clip over the battery to release
The Clip/Clamp is held in place by a long threaded rod normally 6 to 10mm, spray wd40 on the thread then start to undo the nut, then remove the clamp. is it a fill able battery? is there 6 filler holes at the top? is it topped up right? If you are not well up on what I have said take it to your local auto Elect centre BUT NOT YOUR DEALER they will advise whether you need a new battery, don't forget, if the car is not getting enough charge Eg/ when you start the car Ist thing in Winter, Radio on, Lights on, Demister on, Heater on, & you are only going on a short journey to work you are not charging the battery enough to maintain its life.

thanks, had a try. they don't believe in making it easy. can get an adjustable spanner in but not enough room to get any movement. will have to try socket set, or just hit it with a hammer.
Hi, you may need a deep socket with an extension bar, but do not be tempted to try and bang the clamp to one side otherwise you will pay the price. Mind your clothes when removing the battery 7 use some gloves.
