LPG fuel for cars

Can anyone tell me why LPG fuel for cars is not coming down in line with petrol as it certainly went up with it. I thought the Government promised that it would never be more than half the price of petrol. The fuel companies must be raking it in from this source alone, is it because LPG users don't have the same clout???
