Bmw x3 2006 onwards a good buy?

Thinking of buying a new model BMW x3 3.0sd. it sounds like a good mix of performance and practicality. I know the 535d has the same engine, but it doesnt appeal. Anyone owned one of these?

my hubby sells BMWs and i have driven the X3. i think the X3s are superb cars. love the X6 and X5 too and cant wait to have a go of the X1 when it comes out.
