I drive a 4 year old mini cooper.Since I got it 2 years ago I have had to have 5 new tyres (runflats at 130 each) Nightmare.Anyway this week I had yet another puncture and the guy who replaced it showed me the inner rim is corroding in small areas all around the wheel causing the rim to leak.Would something like this be covered by an anti corrosion warranty ?(if I have one. I think the mini is 6 yrs...have emailed the dealership) If not I've been given a card for a man who will take the wheel off, sandblast it and put it back on....does anyone recommend having this done too? I cannot afford all these tyres, the car may have to go. Thanks for your help.

Sorry to say this type of corrosion is not covered under your warranty, the anti corrosion warranty only covers the body work work. any decent garage/tyre centre should be able to sort out you wheels, thiss is a common problem on certain cars/wheels and we used an angle grinder equiped with a wire brush. Sand blasting will be expencive
i'm afraid this is a common problem with alloy wheels when they get to be a few years old.

Thanks to you both.I contacted Williams Mini and they are going to try and sort it out for me.I had no idea this would happen. It's such an expensive problem.
