Hi I pulled my handbrake up other day and it went abit too far nearly got stuck. Now it feels loose and I have to bring it up further then before to get it to go tight.

How do I go about tightening the handbrake cable up again.
Can I do it myself with a spanner or what or would I be better off going to garage?

Thankyou

Hi
i believe there is an adjustment at the handbrake lever end,
(cable) you would be better off with a deep socket to adjust it with, rather than a spanner!** i think its10mm**
just don't go to crazy with it
however before you do attempt it - i think if you have the handbrake off & push the pedal down hard a dozen or so times this will take up any slack at the adjusters in the drums( thats if it don't have discs) or should do.
have fun trying
