If you have a sympathetic GP he/she might prescribe a short course of beta blockers. These dampen down the physiological symptoms of anxiety.

Have 6 pints of Stella first, sorted! Then you can beat him up if you fail!

Yet another brilliant idea from the wisdom of the Geezer.

Thanks but think i would be unconcious let alone drive lol
When I was younger and things like that made me nervous I used to imagine the examiner having sex or on the loo... but try not to laugh, they will think you are mad ;-)
Is it possible to ask if you can talk to an examiner (obviously not the one who will do the test)? If you could see that they are reasonable human beings looking to find reasons to pass you rather than reasons to fail you, you migh feel a little less terrified. Tlak to your driving school and see if they can arrange it.
Try something called RESCUE REMEDY from the BACH FLOWER RANGE - it's really good for all stressful situations - the version with the dropper bottle in the liquid form is best. Holland and Barrett sell it. Good luck.
my mate was like you and his mum gave him half a valium.

he passed 1st time.

ive also heard of someone smoking a joint, and drinking a glass of buckfast wine before the test.

they passed.

I recommend a "self hypnosis" tape (I lent the one I had from a clinic in Crawley, I think. Or, if that`s no good actually have a session with a hypnotherapist as smokers do to reduce & perhaps remove "Test nerves".
Can recommend an excellent hypnotherapist in Crawley / Croydon if it's near you......
