I had an envolope jam in my Canon Pixma MP170 printer so I gently pulled it free as it was gripping tightly but now I find that when I print ordinary paper several pieces are pulled through. I have it set to paper not envelopes. I can`t see any thing in the instuction book to help me. Can you?TIA

ahhh shy lad ... you certainly are up against it ;-)

there are a couple of things to try.....
the easiest is to "break" the paper .....
whenever you load a wad of paper .... run your thumb over it (like riffling a deck of cards) to seperate the sheets ...
pressure and static can weld them together.

the other is that in pulling the env out of the rollers you've coated the "sticky" rubber with a layer of slick paper.

the first option is to use a slightly damp (almost dry) cloth to remove the coating from the rollers .... it will take a few goes to soften it and get it all off.

the second is to use a damp panscrub (don't go mad)

the most drastic solution (used only as an absolute last resort on old kit is to use sandpaper).

always allow to dry thoroughly before loading paper and using
