Chamois pad

I have a chamois pad for getting the condensation off my windows of my car, but recently it has got a bit dirty. Can I stick it in the washing machine? Or just chuck it out and get a new one?

chamois leather should contain some natural oils otherwise it will become too dry and brittle. Washing machine detergent will take out the oils. The recommended way is to clean it with hand soap until clean then rinse.

Stick it in the washing machine and it will disintegrate.
