My first is: How do car batteries work?

And second: How long does it take to recharge a battery? Or How many miles does it take to recharge a battery?

If the battery is in a good condition but just flat
it normally takes about a 20-30min drive to re-charge it enough to restart the vehicle again if the alternator is charging ok.
