a bouncy chair is normally good, some feely toys, a swing chair, something soft that lights up or plays music ??
I started taking my boy to mother & toddler/baby groups when he was only 8 weeks old. he was really happy watching the other children playing and they usually have some baby toys which she wont have seen.
you could put her in a sling while you do the chores at home and talk to her about what you are doing. or sing to her! she will love it and it will make what you are doing a bit more enjoyable.
enjoy this time as it goes so quick x

i got a sling she loves it but it really hurts my back after 10 minutes i sing too how old is it when they can have a door bouncer my first baby u see ta
play mats are quite good. I got my baby's one from ELC, he loves it. I wouldn't try the door bouncer until she's bout 4 months.
i take mine to parent and baby groups they love it plus it gets me out the house.

what about swimming, babies love it!!!!
This sounds mad, but I always took my boys to the pet shop when they were little as they loved to watch the fish in the tanks with all the lights and movement. A free day out especially if it is raining!

And you just cant beat peek a boo
I have heard that those slings where the baby lies to the side are better on your back. They are like a big piece of material. it does depend on the sling they are all different.
I carried both of our children in a 'snuggly' facing my chest when they were at their tiniest. Later we bought the next version where they rode in a 'back pack'. I'd swear I have a small patch in the back of my head where there is no hair, from my daughter pulling it out in patches, trying to direct me to go where she wanted!

But for bonding, entertainment, AND exercise, I'd swear by the famous Snuggly!

be well

get youself to mother and toddlers
You need a better sling! I suspect you've tried a high street style which will do your back in and isn't great for baby's spine either.
If you check out somewhere like http://www.thebabywearer.com/ you'll see there are so many more out there and they are very comfy too. The weight is distributed more evenly than the baby bjorn types. I carry my children in a sling until they are about 2 1/2, I find it easier than a buggy.
You can then get on with what you need to do as baby is learning loads without you even trying. They love watching you being sociable and getting on with jobs, all from the safe secure place of being close to Mum.
