I have a 2000 Focus 1.8LX petrol and at around 75mph through to 90mph (private roads ofcourse) it develops a vibration through the steering. It only happens between these speeds and only when accelerating. It feels as though the front end is about to fall off. If you maintain speed or slow down it does not shake.
I have had new tyres fitted to the car but this had no effect.
Any ideas?

Sounds like your first port of call is your tyre dealer to get your wheel alignment and tracking checked.

Already done! As i said i have had new tyres fitted and balanced but this has not solved the issue. Alignment has also been checked with the same result
Could be a fault in the tyre or tyres, sounds daft but could have one not fitted correctly are not perfectly round.
have your drive shafts checked the cv joint were it goes in gear box
get the tyres checked for a warp and also get a steering and suspension check , bushes, ball joints track rod ends etc etc. or maybe the wheels werent balanced properly or a weight has come of the wheel . could be a number of things.
