I was in Moscow last week, and Lenin's mausoleum was closed along with most of Red Square. Why was this? There were a lot of pipers and drummers around but no explanation as to why.

Red Square....entertainment.....wouldn't have said that very often in one sentence 20 years ago.....

I was there also at that time, and was disappointed that it looked so small with all the fences and seats. Beautiful though wasn't it??
