hi, just went to change the brake pads on my 2003 tdci mondeo and found that the front offside tyre has worn through to the wire bracing( it was all ragged and sticking out, bright and shiny). this was the only wear, and it was all the way round the tyre, but only about an inch in width. have looked for any signs of scuffing under the wheel arch, but can see nothing. the rest of the tyre has normal wear pattern, no sign of mis-alignment or excessive wear on any other parts of the tread. any ideas?
thanks, alf.

tracking or your wheel allignment could be out.
In addition to Norms advice - I had a Corsa that had the same problem - wheel alignment was spot on - turned out to be worn suspension inducing negative camber
( tyres closer to each other at the top than the bottom ).
