Ive just bought some 17" alloys for my corsa 2000 w reg and I wondered if they will go straight onto it or do I need to do anything else to the car first?? Also will it have any negative effect on the car as its on 13" at the moment
Any info would be great
Thanks

17 inch alloys will be no good at all on a corsa, they are too big. you might have got away with 16 in,but 17 are too big.
No alloys are good on a corsa lol
Assuming they came with the correct offset, pdc, etc, then you'll get' em on, but they'll make the car ride and drive dreadfully because you'll have very low profile rubber on them and depending on the width you'll very likely need to roll the arches.......in my youth we did this with a broom handle but nowadays there's a tool to do it , which most bodyshops will have.
There are several problems here. I expect the rims are at least 7" wide and therefore need a 205 section tyre, you can getaway with 195 but either way the profile will be so low ie 35 or 40 the ride will grim
The other problem is clearance, as already mentioned. to clear the inner arches these wheels need less offset especially on the front on lock. This is going to load up the wheel bearings and cause early failure. the steering geometry will also need changing so by the time the arches are rolled this is going to be expensive. If its also lowered the problems get worse, good luck!!!
