can using a car with a faulty catalytic converter cause other damage

my renault clio 53 plate has the rotten egg smell which comes and goes and of course i am told that it could be the catalytic converter. the car is still under warranty and of course the garage cant fit it in for ages!!! if i continue to drive it will i cause other problems, can i damage anything else, should i drive it at all???? please help

It is the cat that gives out the egg smell, some do this it is quite normal as the garage will tell you.
my clio smells the same some times , i only do short journeys and was told to do a long journey so the engine gets hot . i done that now its a lot better .
You won't do any harm to the rest of the car by using it until your garage can have a look at it. However as others have already suggested the smell you describe is not uncommon and your garage may well tell you the same thing.
