ford focus fuel consumption

I have just bought a ford focus 1.6 with the 115 engine. The year is 05. I would like to know in general how many miles I should be getting to the gallon.

if it's a manual about 40 to 45 miles , have'nt you got the handbook

Yes I have got the handbook but its not doing 40-45. More like 35.

I hace a 1.6 manual and can only get 28.5 Ford say nothing wrong!!
