Rav 4 - alarm/key fob problem

hi

i have a second hand - 2004 - rav4 - with 1 "electronic" key and 1 standard - have managed to lose the electronic one!

Toyota quoted �900 to fix !!!!!! - as no electronic to clone an new one with - the other option would seem to be is to turn off the alarm (u can do it with standard key but only after 1 minute of the alarm going) and look to fit a new alarm and use the standard key

any ideas?
