Bit new to all of this, so......my tax is up the end of April. But my mot ends on the 7th May, can i re tax my car using this or do i need to get another mot certificate to take with me ?

Your current MOT certificate will be fine.

As long as your current MOT is in force, you can tax your car.
But be warned. Do not attempt to run your car after the MOT has expired, as your MOT record is kept on a national database.
