What is the speed limit on a dual carriage way? Is it 60mph or 70mph?

Unless there are signs that say otherwise - 70 mph

70 mph usually - unless special limits apply due to crossings, roundabouts or roadworks - but will be indicated clearly with round red boarded signs with the speed limit stated.

Otherwise it is the national speed limit (white round sign with a black diaganol line) - 70 mph for dual carriageways and 60 mph for single carriagways.
