Can you explain your tendency to rev the engine? When the car is stationary? When moving in slow traffic or when moving at motorway speeds? Most likely its the clutch getting smelly- do you keep your foot hovering on the clutch pedal all the time? If you are revving whilst crawling in traffic with your foot on the clutch pedal it will be slipping, getting hot and some time in the future will likely need replacing. Only way to overcome this is review and revise your way of driving.

Hiya Burnhal,i mostly rev the engine when im getting my biting point together and moving off in slow traffic, and also when i feel that im holding up the traffic, thats when i rev high. My foot is not on the clutch pedal all the time, only when it has to be (ie changing gears). And i think due to the fact that i was reving it has caused the oil to overflow on da engine, hence causing the smell. But yeahh i will definetly take ur advice on board with regard to reviewing and revising my way of driving.
Revving the engine will not generally cause the oil to overflow from the engine - but as it is a Fiesta I would suggest getting the breather pipes on the rocker cover checked to make sure they are clear.

Thanks woodchopper for that advice...will look into that.... p.s where is the rocker cover...what an odd name, lol ( by the way forgive me if im not familair with car jargon..im a girl..dat explains it..lol)
Revving the engine will not cause oil overflow, you are well on the way to burning the clutch out (that is the smell) by your poor driving technique.
