Hi,

My Renault Clio will not start in the winter. Its an intermittent fault but is getting severely worse as it hardly ever starts now.

I'm sure it's not the TDC sensor as the starter motor doesn't fire up.

Don't think it's the battery in the keyfob as the dash board lights up when I turn the key and the red light stops flashing.

I don't think its a dodgey connection to the soleniod either - I disconnected the small thin wire and attached a jump-lead from the positive of the battery to the positive on the solenoid and that didn't even turn it over.

Do we think it could just be the mechanics of the solenoid/starter motor? I havent monkeyed about with the earth lead on the starter motor yet but it looks sound.

Any ideas anyone?
