This maybe a stupid question, but have to ask. Is it trur that there is no TIMING BELT in this car. That there is a timing chain?

Does the timing CHAIN need changing? I have done 140k miles.

i just bought a 320d and after making enquire's at my local bmw garage, i was told that the chain didn't need replacing.

Ask a BMW garage.

Timing chains very rarely break, they just get noisy if the tensioner wears.
