My MOT expires on 31/08/06 as does my Tax Disc will i be able to renew my Tax Disc if say i do it before 31st? Or, will it all need to be done one the same day. I'm not trying to dodge out or anything it's just i'll need to prepare now for the MOT if this is the case. Thought i'd ask don't want to be embarassed at the Post Office. Thanks in advance

easy way out.

Get the MOT done a week before as the expiration will still be the original expry date (ie 53 weeks hence) then you will have an mot that covers the whole period. You need an mot anyway just make the process easier.

You can retax cars up to 2 weeks in advance if you use the relicence form they send to you. So you can use the old MOT.

If tax disc is due to start on 01/09 then MOT needs to be valid for that day. They will not give you a new tax disc two weeks in advance based on the old MOT. You need to get a new MOT to retax your car.

i often tax me beetle, classic car so free, with only few days of me mot left, the post said as long as it was valid on the day on the of taxing the car that was fine, though not sure if thats changed
