i've recently bought a 98/99 bright red polo, which is surpassing all my expectations, apart from the fact that I need to address the (maybe 5) rust spots thereon. I've seen a few polos of similar age, and some of them look terrible - there seems to be a plasticised laquer (sp?) which if neglected, can diminish and eventually peel off. i must avoid this: nurses don't get paid enough to start buying new cars...... how shall i address the rust spots without spending a fortune at a paint shop, or is that my only option?

kind thoughts,
