Keep that Guys details and tell all your friends! LOL he'll probably get the sack if his boss finds out.
Personally, I'd insist on a cambelt change at 60k ...whatever the garage said

he was the boss and up to u when you change yours if a pro says a petrol can get another 30K who am i to argue
wat kind of car u on about and i mite be able to help u
why u taking it to kwik fit for a timing belt half of them arent even qualified mechanics?
bhoy wot iss rong wif your spellin

90,000 miles is a lot without a cambelt change, unless you have already had it done once at 50, 000!!!
I don't think Kwik Fit deal with cambelts, but I've got to come to their rescue, as they seem to take quite a lot of stick on here. I've been using them for many years now, brakes, exhausts, tracking etc and have always found them to be fair and honest. If work needed to be done I am always invited to see what the problem is and have it explained to me. Then I can watch the work being done at quite close range - which you can't do at most garages. I have a fair knowledge of cars and have been impressed by the care taken by KwikFit mechanics. By the way, what make and model car are you referring to ?
Sorry Derek, i have to disagree, KF charge top dollar for everything. Peugot 306 diesel back box ........ 250. Local car acc shop ....... 79. Go on, tell me it's probably better quality.
Speak as you find, HB, but I don't doubt your figures. Are you comparing like for like ? ie Supply and fit v Supply only ?
even at that it wont cost 171 to take two bolts of and gasket and put new one on
Kwik Fit are handed a sheet every month telling them they must sell x amount of tyres exhausts and so on or they wont make bonus and that came from a kwik fit fitter so u cant get better lol
