I have just had the same problem with mine, it took me 4 weeks of scratching my head, and it turned out to be the leak off pipes from the injectors. They were all rotten. I went to a few garages and they all told me the injector pump needed replacing, vauxhall quoted me 1,800 plus vat for the pump.

if you change your fuel filter and pipes, it should be ok, mine only cost me 8.00 in the end

sounds like an excellent place to start.
If your doing the leak off pipes get rubber ones not braided as thats what vauxhall supply now, also change the 3 t-pieces as well, another thing to check is oil in the water in the header tank it won't be a lot but you should see it ok if there is theres a chance the seals on the injectors are leaking & oil gets into the water but it also leaked into the end of the injector contaminating the diesel this also caused really bad starting.
