Bad dreams!

My 8 year old daughter is always having bad dreams,we have the odd night that she will sleep through but most nights she will wake up crying,sometimes she can be almost hysterical to the point where i will put her duvet down on the floor beside our bed so we can get some sleep,i cant see anything that can be causing them,she shares a room with her older sister so she's not in on her own,is it just a phase possibly?I don't remember my eldest two being like this,thanx!!

My 6 yr old did this from birth till last year.We eventually took him to a sleep clinic who said that he had Night Terrors.They are very distressing to watch and he even used to thrash about,but in the morning he didnt remember a thing.He slowly grew out of them and hasnt had one for about 10 months now.Your daughter will grow out of this hopefully.Good luck.x

Thanx kazzianne she hasn't always had them it seems to have come on within,maybe,this year definately,she had the odd one last year but this year is constant!

my son had sleep troubles i went out and brought him a dream catcher, i worked a treat i have no problems now with him...

I have had 4 kids and my son is the only one to do this - it used to freak me out,especially when he used to start screaming.In the end I would sit by his bed and just stroke his head till he calmed down,never woke him up as that would confuse him even more.If you like I could try and get hold of the number of the clinic for you?x

Thanx roverkim it WAS a good suggestion though i got one a while back and it did work after the brief bad dreams she had last time!!

Electric - I have been on the fone for ages 2day - the clinic has moved and I am waiting for them to get back to me with the new details,but I promise as soon as I know I will let u know.xx
