I have a problem starting my car both when it is cold and also when the engine is hot. Once started the engine may cut out when the revs are low. eg. when i pull up to a junction. What makes it difficult for me is that sometimes the car will be fine for several days without any problems. I have recently changed the air flow meter to try and cure the problem but this hasn't worked.

Any advice would be much appreciated. Also, does anyone know of any good VW forums i could log onto. Many Thanks

A friend of mine had 2003 Seat Toledo with these symptoms, and Seat couldn't solve it (despite sending the car to Dover to be checked by the big boys!) - yet a local VW dealer secured one of the electrical connector blocks which had come loose and it was perfect. It was a bank of connectors toward the front of the car on the right hand side as you look at the engine cover.

I'm obviously grabbing at straws on the offchance but this may help. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I'll try that.
it sounds like the temp sensor is faulty which is located on the cooling pipes on the head above the gearbox area
