Pass Plus is a training course specifically aimed at new drivers, designed by the Driving Standards Agency (DSA) with the help of insurers and the driving instruction industry. Pass Plus will build upon your existing skills and knowledge, it will teach you how to anticipate, plan for and deal with all kinds of hazards, and can help you to become more confident on the roads

and to answer the second part of your question, you can drive on a motorway as soon as you have passed the standard driving test.

Ahh nice one guys! cheers very much mandy, helpful link xx

PassPlus is a voluntary extra test. You don't need it, and the only practical reason for having it is that insurers recognise the extra training and will give you a reduced premium - The most expensive bit of being a young driver!
