CIS (co-op insurance) is often best for young people.

it will be a hard task trying to get insurance lower than 500 for a new driver at the age of 18, at fully comp or 3rd party fire and theft. good luck!
Admiral/elephant/bell direct (all the same company) are the only mainstream insures to give me a low quote but be wary of their cancellation policy
if you have a clean license pippa and have had your license for a while, put yourself as a named driver on his policy. (DON'T be tempted to put yourself as the main driver and him as a named driver though!). With some companies, this will bring down the premiums by a hundred quid or so. (It did for me when I put my mum on! - I'm with Tesco).
Hyperformaceis another good car insurance company for younger drivers.

I'm 24 and still paying 950 for insurance for an old car, I suggest spending a bit more on the car and getting cheaper ins quote

hi i can help. if you give me the name of who you want in a policy (also comp or third party?) and what order, car details and reg, and the adress you want to use. i can get you a quote from a company called CIS, which honestly will beat your current quote! my name's rudy hanna and my no is 07957933339
