Interested to know if and when you have a piece of fruit thats on the turn or part gone, no matter what fruit, do you trim off the not so good and eat the rest, or dump the lot in the bin. Other foods you may also trim and make good would also be of interest.

12.53 to me, hence the question.

If the majority of the piece of fruit is salvageable, then i'd cut off the 'bad' and eat the rest. Otherwise i'd just bin it.

If for some reason you haven't re-wrapped open hard cheese and there's a bit of mould forming at the exposed area, it's very safe to cut that piece off before slicing the required amount, then re-wrapping in fresh tinfoil/cling film.

well, it's like there's nothing wrong with eating red meat, just trim off the green bits...

I can remember not having a fridge when I was a kid. We had a larder with a stone floor and put milky and cheese etc there on the floor. Mum regularly scraped mould of the cheese.

Cut out the bad and eat the rest.

Most items, I would cut off the bad bit and eat the rest apart from bananas which have gone black or very soft pears - they go in the bin. πŸŒ πŸ

I trim off the bad bits

I cannot abide woolly apples or pears.  They go straight in tge compost

Over ripe bananas are a good excuse to make banana and sultana tea loaf.  Throw some crushed walnuts in if you have them

To quote Mr Spock 'Scrape it it off jim!' as I usually do with Fruit and Veg... not so much with fruit... simply don't buy much... not a big fan. But I do hate wasteing food and very rarely throw anything away that I consider still edible.

Typical Tyke, tight as a duck's whatsitπŸ˜‰

Do ducks sink or swim. πŸ˜€

Same as I do with all food. Chop of the mould and eat

The blue in Stilton & the like IS 'mould'.
