I'm sure this is a ludicrous question for those who know but I need help.
The windscreen washer pump has packed up and I need to buy a replacement.
My car is a 2009 Hyundai Comfort CRDi with a 1.6 diesel engine.
When I tried to order the washer pump I had to choose one of 4 different engines each with a different HP.
I am stumped. I have looked under the bonnet, checked the car handbook and looked at every piece of paper I have.

Where do I find this information?

I assume HP means horse power? OK so does this link help? https://www.parkers.co.uk/hyundai/i20/hatchback-2009/14-crdi-comfort-5d/specs/

I don't know but universal pumps are available.
//I had to choose one of 4 different engines//

But did such a choice lead to 4 different windscreen washer pumps?

Now stop confusing me with good advice, Douglas. Can you provide a link to such a thing and guarantee it would fit in the space and to the connectors?

I'd still like to know which engine I have an have the option of buying an original part
I may be talking about something else but I thought all cars had their engine numbers (a long string of digits and letter) stamped on them and also on a sticker somewhere under the bonnet (often at the back under the windscreen) AND on the registration document. That might help.

They are different, dave

I know the engine number but that doesn't tell me the HP, unless someone can point me in the right way
why would the w/screen washer pump depend upon the size of the engine? Doesn't make sense. I would wager all Hyundais from around that time use the same pump.

It's got to be 90 or 115 because the other two options weren't available in 2009. The registration document will have the power on it in KW but you can convert. Another suggestion is to choose a random engine, see which pump they say, then choose the other engine and see if it's different.
Your VIN might contain information about the HP when it's decoded

Thanks, Prudie, it is 113 bhp.

Yay!
If you go to the website of Euro Car Parts and put in your registration number you may get closer to your vehicle info goal, barry.
They don't seem to stock the part you're looking for though.

Thanks again everyone for your help.

Argggh! 113 hp is not listed in the options
barry - what options do they offer?
Question Author
90, 110, 116, 128
The 110 and 128 engines are uprated versions of the 90 and 116 and came out after 2009. Yours will be the 116.
