Can you park with out permit over Christmas and New year's eve on permit only roads

I think it depends on the local by laws. you couldn't at my Mum's in London
I'd have thought that parking would only be permitted if the restriction sign(s) showed something like this:

But does Christmas Day falling on a Saturday this year make it a "bank holiday"?

Thank you for answering so quickly but also yes Christmas is classed as bank holiday
Bear in mind that Christmas Day is a Saturday this year, so the Bank Holiday will be Monday 27th Dec, with Tuesday 28th Dec being "Boxing day".
