Hi I have a Porsche Boxster S and I have a really annoying problem. When I lock the car (and this has only started happening recently) the lights flash twice and makes a small beep noise! I've no idea what it is and it's bugging me. I've checked that everything is shut properly. Can someone please help me?

Thanks Emma.

Im going to assume this is a joke, right?

Well Kloot, assuming this is a straight question, the beep/flash is the normal sign that the alarm is set, if it has only just started then I suppose there was a fault before and it wasn't working and now it is. When you unlock it does it do the same thing ?

I think we have discovered something about Porsche drivers today havent we?

what have we learned?

Hi Kloot, don't worry about the comments, some people assume that because you drive an expensive car you should know how it works while if it was a small cheapo car they would probably assume that it is obvious that you won't know anything instead of visa-versa.

I have the same problem with my brand new Ferrari. It turns out that it is the alarm setting itself and the noise and the flashing lights is just the cars way of letting me know the alarm is set. As I said to the dealer, what's the point of an alarm? I live in a massive house with a three mile long driveway. The car's always kept in one of the 10 heated, carpeted garages on the estate, so it'll never get stolen and even if it does I'll just go out and buy another one. Car manufacturers today just don't think about the customer anymore.

hi Kloot.. the problem is the crank behind the steering wheel...

Emma,I have a Boxster also, 2003 model. The 2 flashes of the lights are normal when you lock the car. The beep that follows is a warning that something isn't shut properly. The most common culprit on mine is the central storrage gubbins near the handbrake. You need to make sure that this is fimly shut and then your Porsche will no longer make rude noises at you!

Bring on the summer.... ;)
