If you're talking about Dash Cams they normally only operate when the car is in motion, maybe a good CCTV Camera on your property if that's appropriate depending on where you park.

No it's a good area on the whole.

IMO a car camera that fails to capture issues when parked is of extremely limited use. Last problem I had involved a hit & run on my parked vehicle. That's where one needs evidence of the incident and the numberplate of the offending vehicle.

Nextbase 312 has parking mode (as do many)...this triggers if the vehicle is knocked.Cost around £100 from Halfords.
