Hi
I want to buy a new sat nav around the £100 price range.
I've now confused myself with all the options!
This is what I would need

U.K. Only
Speed camera alerts included or a reasonable yearly cost
Free map updates
Free traffic updates

I'm not bothered about others things really. I'll have the latest iPhone soon,if that can link in

I would be grateful for any help.
Thank u.

This ticks all your boxes, has excellent reviews, is currently on special offer and gets you Tesco Clubcard points as well! http://www.tesco.com/direct/garmin-nuvi-57lm-uk-roi-maps-with-free-lifetime-map-updates/625-0814.prd?pageLevel=&skuId=625-0814

Buenchico will tell you in a minute or two - and give you a link. Betcha!
Why not use your iphone as a satnav?
Could do worse than a Tomtom Start 25. Ticks all the boxes, and so simple to use. IMO ☺
Halfords always have good deals on Sat Navs. I have a Garmin with all the spec you mentioned. Very easy to use. It was approx £90ish

Mine doesn't do the traffic updates, but still good value for money
Yep, you're better getting google maps than aaaaaaanybody else.

That's the Garmin I have. Excellent and at a really good price. Never let me down.
Told you! Excellent advice, as usual, BC. The only answer that I really want at the moment is one that even you will be unable to give: will my car pass the dreaded MoT next Tuesday?!

Thank u all so much for taking the time and trouble to reply. This Garmin one from Tescos looks ideal and cheaper than I thought it would be.
Thank u again.

Just use your iPhone and google maps for free.
Question Author
Thank u for suggesting using the phone, I had considered using my iPhone but have read bad reports about bad signals in built up areas and draining the battery so I thought it would be better to go for a reasonably priced new sat nav, my Tom Tom is 4 years old now and it would cost more to update the maps than buy a new one! So I've just ordered the Garmin that was recommended by buenchico.
In car chargers are now available for most phones that plug into a 12v port in a car (cigerette lighter). Signal would be the same on a phone or sat nav????
Chico has picked a good one - its surprising how many people dont go online and do their updates regularly though. Personally I find speed cam warnings invariably going off when the cams have been removed or might be mobile, even with regular updates, a shade annoying. I dont do iphones but there is probably an app that will do all these things - whether it does it as well as a dedicated satnav would need research.
I used a TomTom for years before it packed up and now used my android tablet as a satnav. I find it at least as good as the TomTom and is constantly updated.
