Recommend Me A Sat Nav Please ........

I'm after a basic Sat Nav (not bothered about all the fancy add-ons etc).
What I am after though, is one which will get periodic FREE map updates.
I own a MyGuide 3100 and there are NO map updates available (free or paid for), unless you know how to hack into it .... which I don't :(

My missus owns a Nav Man EZY Wide .... just been on the website and it's £19.99 to purchase a map update.

.... to be honest, I'd rather pay more for the Sat Nav and get free updates for life .... I'm sure I've heard that this is possible.

Any ideas please ??

we have a quite old TomTom Go500 which we can update annually for free, not sure they still do that model but TomTom must be worth a look

Garmin Nuvi range, with lifetime map updates, available from various places including Amazon and Halfords.

You just need to be able to connect the satnav to your pc to pick up updates for firmware and maps.

Do you have a smartphone? I have tomtom on my iphone and it updates four times a year.
